HEATING & LIGHTING OPTIONS

Radiant Heat Panels
RHPs attach to the inside enclosure roof and must be controlled by a thermostat for ambient and nighttime heating. They do not emit any light and have lower surface temperatures than a ceramic heat emitter or bulb. The lower the surface temperature of a heating unit, the less drying effect they will have. Great for ambient heat as well as lower-temperature nocturnal or crepuscular species not needing a basking lamp.

Arcadia Deep Heat Projector
A great non-light-emitting option for mimicking natural heat from the sun; provides both infrared A and infrared B wavelengths and a great addition to enclosures for a larger basking spot, nighttime basking, and extra heating for a colder home environment. Can be mounted inside using a ceramic fixture, or on top in a dome lamp and controlled by a thermostat. Recommended to be at least 12 inches from the animal so that needs to be taken into account when looking at enclosure size and mounting inside vs outside with a screen.

Halogen Flood Bulb
Provides heat & UVA light for basking diurnal species. Halogen bulbs are dimmable using a Herpstat proportional thermostat and can be mounted in the enclosure using the Arcadia Lamp Holder Pro or on top through a screen using a Dome Lamp. The lowest wattage halogen should be used to reach desired basking temperature to emit the most beneficial UVA.

Halogen bulbs need to be controlled by a thermostat, and mounted at least 12 inches away from animal at the highest point of the enclosure. Minimum distance is 12 inches from the animal so that needs to be taken into account when looking at enclosure size and mounting inside vs outside with a screen.

Arcadia Inline Pro T5 UVB
UVB has come a long way since the reptile hobby began and is a great accessory for many species.

They can be placed on timers (or use the Arcadia app for LumenIZE units) and used for only parts of the day for nocturnal/crepuscular species, or all day for a diurnal species.

The 2.4% Shade Dweller, 2.5% Shade Dweller MAX, 6% Forest & 7% Shade Dweller bulbs and popular for crepuscular and diurnal species normally found in temperate, tropical, or montane environments with lots of foliage cover & hides. Desert diurnal species with high light requirements such as bearded dragons can utilize the 12% UVB bulb mounted inside the enclosure.

Minimum distance for UVB is 12 inches from the animal so that needs to be taken into account when looking at enclosure size and mounting inside vs outside with a screen. The Solarmeter 6.5 is an excellent tool for fine-tuning your animal’s environment for proper hides, shade, and UVB gradients as every setup varies.

Dimmable VE LED Lamps
If you are looking to just illuminate the enclosure without providing heat, UVB, or propagate plants, the corner-mounted LED lamp is a great option that is both dimmable and sleek. They are available in 10″, 22″, 32″, and 42″ lengths.

Arcadia Jungle Dawn LED Bars
These powerful full spectrum LED bars are great for bioactive or naturalistic enclosures with live plants or larger enclosures that need the Jungle Dawn’s powerful brightness to illuminate the large space. They increase the visible light and provide plants the necessary energy to grow and thrive within the enclosure environment.

Ceramic Heat Emitters
A dimmable heating option that does not emit any light. These are not recommended to be mounted inside PVC enclosures due to the extremely high surface temperature. Can be used in a dome lamp outside the enclosure through a stainless screen and must be used with a thermostat.

Arcadia Lamp Holder Pro
An open solution for mounting bulbs inside the enclosure. Uses a bent metal mount with four screws to attach and space ceramic fixture away from the PVC. To be used with Halogen bulbs or Deep Heat Projectors.

Arcadia Clamp Dome Lamp Holder
A dome lamp holder that can be placed on stainless screens outside the enclosure for Halogen bulbs, Deep Heat Projectors, or CHEs, or inside the enclosure using the Arcadia Clamp.

Proportional Thermostats
We use and recommend Spyder Robotics Herpstat proportional thermostats. Proportional thermostats are great because they can control the voltage applied to the heating element vs the on/off style of non-proportional thermostats. So instead of chasing proper heat by turning the element/bulb full-power on, then fully off with a non-proportional thermostat, proportional ones provide more uniform warmth by staying on the desired temperature through varying voltage.

**Please Note**
While we do offer these additional accessories as convenient options in enclosure builds, any warranty inquiries must be taken up with the respective manufacturer of the product. Please see Terms and Conditions for more info!

So we can know more about what type of climate (warm, cold, dry, humid) the animal and enclosure will be located in.
In a room, main living area, basement, on the floor (concrete, carpet, upstairs) or raised on a table/shelf, room airflow (fan in the room, drafty, near a window).
For example coco chip, aspen, paper towel, puppy pad, soil, etc.
