We’re so excited you’ve received your Focus Cubed Habitats enclosure. Now time to assemble! To keep it simple – line up the numbered stickers, starting with joint “1” and ending with joint “6”, screw together using a #2 Phillips driver, remove vinyl alignment stickers, seal substrate area to make water/substrate tight if preferred. Done! But in all seriousness, we’ve made sure assembly is minimal so you can get to enjoying as soon as possible. Screws need a #2 Phillips screwdriver. If you have one – an electric drill speeds up the process! PVC is smooth and does not take much effort to slide, so it helps to assemble on a non slick surface.
· Attach left side panel to bottom (floor) panel.
· Line up the numbered stickers for alignment, starting with the “1”. This is your first joint. Use supplied hardware to screw together.
· Attach right-side panel to bottom (floor) panel.
· Line up the “2” sticker for the second joint, check alignment and screw together.
· Once left and right sides are attached to the bottom panel, flip over the assembly where the bottom panel now becomes the (temporary) top.
· Slide roof panel between the left and right side panels. Line up the “3” and screw together, then “4” and screw together.
· The inner structure is done, now to the back panel. Place face-down on your work surface where the rear of the enclosure is facing up, route and wires through associated slots and probe cord cover (simply remove Philips screws, place cord in the machined groove with only the probe sticking out the bottom, and reattach), line up the “5” & check alignment, and screw together. If ordered with a rear shelf now is the time to attach it. The shelf has been preinstalled so line up associated braces to the numbers and alignment marks on the shelf, tighten braces using silver stainless hardware. Place enclosure on its back, align shelf and brace assembly to marks on the side panel first and tigthen. Tilt enclosure on the non-shelf side so the shelf hangs down, and attach to the rear panel using stainless screws. For best results it helps to have a helping set of hands with one person aligning and one person tightening.
· Last is the front/door panel. Flip the enclosure assembly over where the front is facing you.
· Take the front panel with door installed and line up the “6”, check alignment, and screw together.
· Helps to screw together using the same X-pattern as the back: top left, bottom right, top right, bottom left, fill in the rest.
· Once done attaching panels, remove all stickers, and seal substrate area to stop any liquid or debris from coming out of the seams. Follow directions on your preferred sealant tube for best results. Allow ample time for strong smell to dissipate before adding your animal.
