We’re excited your new Focus³ Habitats Concept3 MaXX has arrived! Now time to assemble!

*Double check all heat panel power cord connections are firmly seated after shipping.

Heat panels must be used with a thermostat. These heated units are designed to work in average home temperatures of 72 degrees or more. Your home’s ambient temperature, humidity, and airflow play a role in your enclosure’s thermostat settings and humidity needs. We recommend Herpstat brand dimming thermostats for more accurate temperature oscillation.

Once your thermostat is set accordingly, it is best to let the Concept run for a few days while measuring and confirming your preferred temperatures with a heat gun and separate thermometer/hydrometer. Do not rely on the thermostat’s temperature setting alone to measure your desired temperature.

Key:
Labels are located at the front right of each panel for orientation.
F – Floor panel
1 – First Level with heat panel
2 – Second Level with heat panel
T – Top with heat panel
L – Viewer’s Left side
R – Viewer’s Right side
B1 – Level 1 brace
B2 – Level 2 brace
TB – Top brace
B – Back

Your Concept has been fully assembled for proper tub fitment, then disassembled for flat-pack shipping. Each panel is labeled according to its place within the assembly, labels should be removed once assembled.

If you chose LED lighting, the bracket holes are CNC machined in the rear of the L side. Locate the LED lighting hardware (2 screws and brackets per lamp) and install brackets opening toward the front of the panel.

Take the floor panel (F) and attach each (L & R) side respectively. Make sure the LED brackets are to the rear of the L panel where the lighting will be located. Vent holes are in the rear of each panel.

Once floor and sides are assembled, attach the rear panel. Helps to place the unit face down to properly align and attach the rear panel to the floor and side assembly.

Once the back is attached, attach the first level (L1) using provided hardware sides and back taking care to seat evenly into the back panel. While sliding in you may need to reach in and push up on the level from the bottom to counteract the weight of the heat panel to seat into the rear groove. Take care not to flex the sides and knock the level out the the grooves. It helps to have someone help with an extra set of hands.

Once all grooves are seated, make sure front edge of the level is flush with the side panel’s front edge, and attach the level to the sides and back using provided hardware. Repeat with the second (L2) fully seating and attaching, and then the top (T) panel.

Heat panel plug wires can be routed out of the back using cord management holes in the rear panel.

Once all levels are seated and secured, attach each level’s brace from below and sides using supplied hardware. B1 attaches to level 1 (L1), B2 attaches to level 2 (L2), and the top brace (TB) with clear acrylic attaches to the top (T) panel.

LED Lamps
Place LED lamp (wires facing down) into the brackets installed earlier, and wires can be routed out the back using rear panel holes and linked using splitters.

Probe cord covers and Placement
You can place your thermostat probe through roof hole under the supplied cord clamp and routed out the back panel. Remove Philips screws and thread probe through the hole making sure it dangles straight down. Probe must be dangled between 1 and 3.5 inches down straight down from the inside roof or you can risk catching the probe on your tub. A Herpstat thermostat and probe setup is recommended. Once probe is installed the proper length straight down, replace top cord clamp using Philips screws making sure probe cord is captured and does not move.
