The Hangar6 and Hatchling Hangars are set up for their particular tub quantity for many reasons. The main two reasons are
1. Balance between tub amount and appropriate heating.
2. Ability to ship via FedEx rather than requiring costly freight shipping crated on a pallet.
We often get asked if we make a larger (more tubs in one unit) version of both the Hangar6 and the Hatchling Hangar. We do not mainly because of the two above reasons; the appropriate heating being the most important.
Yes, other manufacturers might make a tub unit that is taller and houses more tubs, but the tradeoff is heating accuracy. The taller the tub system heated with one heating element, the larger the temperature variation between the bottom tubs and the top tubs. Especially if the unit is placed on a bare cement floor or the room does not have any airflow to circulate cooler lower air with warmer upper air. Think of the air temperature in a room like the thermocline in a lake.
